Fake World Bank loan ads lure Bangladeshi users on Meta platforms
AI-generated ads falsely claiming to offer low-interest loans from institutions like the World Bank are circulating across Meta platforms. Most of the pages running the ads are being operated from Cambodia, while a few are managed jointly from Cambodia and Bangladesh, pointing to the transnational nature of the scam networks targeting Bangladeshi users. Further analysis shows that multiple Facebook pages ran identical ads, suggesting possible coordination.
